The people you surround yourself with have an enormous impact on your life. Ask yourself who are the five people you spend the most time with and this will tell you where you are going in life. You should always be thinking about the people you’re spending time with in the same way you think about what you are going to wear for the day, eat, and when you are going to exercise.
If you have friends or family that suck up your energy, and this could even mean tangible resources as well, they are parasites. If you only have the company that takes but never gives, you need a new community. Are you thinking how it can benefit you by hanging out out with people on a higher frequency? They will inspire you to be a better person, provide you with the motivation to achieve your goals, empower you to make the changes necessary to be successful and cheer on your achievements. In the workplace, happy people tend to be more productive. They are organized, create schedules they stick to and don’t get easily distracted from the end goal. It’s important to note that “good” does not mean alike. Too much of the same thing can inhibit growth. You want to have diversity and healthy arguments. You should have the enthusiasm to soak up knowledge, and by having different perspectives, it can help you with that.
What Does “Good” Mean to You?
“Surround yourself with people who make you happy. People who make you laugh, who help you when you’re in need. People who genuinely care. They are the ones worth keeping in your life. Everyone else is just passing through.” – Karl Marx
Think About The People who you spend the Most Time With Write down the characteristics of the people you spend the most time with. Would you call them positive people? Happy? Now think of how they communicate and affect you. Do they make you feel like you have what it takes to reach your goals? Do they support you? Do they make you feel attractive? You felt happy and energized after spending time with them? If you answered “yes” to these questions, you’re probably already surrounded by the right people you need.
People are unique and this what makes this world so beautiful. Some things excite you that might not excite me. Your idea of support may differ from the next person’s. The key is finding the people that are good for you.
So how do you do that? Remember that like attracts like. You have to give off positive vibes and be confident. You also must be authentic to who you are. This will lead you to the people that are right for you. You may also need to exercise forgiveness. Resentment only produces bitterness and unhappiness, and it’s time to let the negativity go. When good people surround you, everything around you changes. You’ll be less stressed and find more joy in daily things. Today, commit to spending more time with the positive people in your life.
